Bri­an Carter, MD, President

Bri­an Carter, M.D., is board-cer­ti­fied in Fam­i­ly Medicine.

He attend­ed the Uni­ver­si­ty of Neva­da where he received his under­grad­u­ate degree and earned his med­ical degree from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Neva­da School of Med­i­cine. He com­plet­ed his res­i­den­cy at Saint Joseph Region­al Med­ical Cen­ter in South Bend. He is the for­mer chair­man for the Depart­ment of Fam­i­ly Med­i­cine, and serves as a mem­ber on The South Bend Clin­ic Board of Trustees.

Dr. Carter enjoys out­side activ­i­ties and has com­plet­ed mul­ti­ple Iron­man Triathlons and numer­ous ultra­ma­rathons. He brings this pas­sion for life and the impor­tance of a healthy lifestyle into his patient care when­ev­er pos­si­ble. He is mar­ried with two chil­dren and enjoys spend­ing time with fam­i­ly and friends.

Sloan S. Shah, MD, FACOG, Vice President

Dr. Sloan Shah joined Michi­ana Obstet­rics and Gyne­col­o­gy in 2001 after com­plet­ing her train­ing at Rush Uni­ver­si­ty in Chica­go. She is orig­i­nal­ly from north­west Illi­nois, grow­ing up in Sycamore.

After grad­u­at­ing from North­ern Illi­nois Uni­ver­si­ty, where she received her under­grad­u­ate degree in biol­o­gy, Dr. Shah attend­ed med­ical school at Loy­ola Uni­ver­si­ty Stritch School of Med­i­cine in May­wood, IL.

Dr. Shah has enjoyed car­ing for women and fam­i­lies in Michi­ana for more than 20 years. Her prac­tice encom­pass­es all aspects of OB/GYN, but she has great inter­est in ado­les­cent gyne­col­o­gy, hor­mon­al and men­stru­al dis­or­ders, the menopause tran­si­tion, and min­i­mal­ly inva­sive surgery, includ­ing Laparo­scop­ic and Da Vin­ci Robot­ic procedures.

She is mar­ried to Dr. Raj Shah and has two chil­dren, Vince and Nicol­i­na. When not see­ing patients, Dr. Shah enjoys spend­ing time with her fam­i­ly, trav­el­ing, and being a fit­ness and well­ness enthu­si­ast. She also enjoys incor­po­rat­ing holis­tic and East­ern med­i­cine philoso­phies to cur­rent tech­nolo­gies and tra­di­tions in med­ical man­age­ment. Her hob­bies include exer­cise, yoga, read­ing and gardening.

Thomas Akre, DO

Dr. Thomas Akre spe­cial­izes in gen­er­al ortho­pe­dics, total joints, ante­ri­or approach total hip, kine­mat­ic aligned total knee, sports med­i­cine, and periph­er­al nerve surgery. He grad­u­at­ed from Des Moines Uni­ver­si­ty Med­ical School as a Doc­tor of Osteopa­thy (D.O.). He went on to com­plete his res­i­den­cy at Ing­ham Region­al Med­ical Cen­ter, an affil­i­ate of Michi­gan State Uni­ver­si­ty in Lans­ing, MI. He and his wife Mary reside in Granger and they have sev­en chil­dren.

Sohaib Aleem, MD, MPH, FACP

Dr. Aleem received his med­ical degree from Aga Khan Uni­ver­si­ty in Pak­istan and com­plet­ed his com­bined inter­nal medicine/​preventive med­i­cine res­i­den­cy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Buf­fa­lo, New York. Dur­ing his fel­low­ship at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Iowa, he focused on aller­gy and immunol­o­gy. He man­ages chil­dren and adults strug­gling with var­i­ous aller­gic dis­eases, includ­ing asth­ma, nasal aller­gies, sinus dis­ease, food aller­gies, eczema, hives, and immun­od­e­fi­cien­cy disorders. 

While he is not work­ing, Dr. Aleem enjoys exer­cis­ing, watch­ing movies, and try­ing out dif­fer­ent cuisines.

Scott A. Blick­ens­der­fer, DO

Dr. Blick­ens­der­fer received both his under­grad­u­ate and his med­ical edu­ca­tion in Kirksville, Mis­souri. His bachelor’s degree is from Tru­man State Uni­ver­si­ty and his doc­tor of osteopa­thy was award­ed at the Kirksville Col­lege of Osteo­path­ic Med­i­cine. Dr. Blick­ens­der­fer served his intern­ship at Met­ro­pol­i­tan Hos­pi­tal in Grand Rapids. His lead­er­ship extends to his cur­rent and pre­vi­ous com­mit­tee posi­tions lead­ing the Amer­i­can Col­lege of Osteo­path­ic Sur­geons.

Jon B. Chad­well, MD

Upon receiv­ing his under­grad­u­ate degree at Ohio Uni­ver­si­ty, Dr. Chad­well went to med­ical school at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Cincin­nati Col­lege of Med­i­cine. He com­plet­ed his res­i­den­cy at Uni­ver­si­ty Hos­pi­tal in Cincin­nati. Dr. Chad­well is board cer­ti­fied in both Oto­laryn­gol­o­gy and Facial Plas­tic & Recon­struc­tive Surgery. He com­plet­ed an accred­it­ed Amer­i­can Acad­e­my of Facial Plas­tics Fel­low­ship giv­ing him the exper­tise required to be a Facial Plas­tic Surgeon. 

Tim­o­thy W. Noveroske, MD

Dr. Noveroske com­plet­ed his col­lege and med­ical edu­ca­tion at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Michi­gan. His pas­sion for med­i­cine includes mis­sion trips to Africa, Haiti and Cen­tral / South Amer­i­ca. His free time is filled with fam­i­ly, fish­ing and travel.

He and his wife have raised five daugh­ters in South Bend.

Bradley Scott, MD

Dr. Bradley Scott start­ed his career at Calvin Col­lege, where he received his under­grad­u­ate degree. He also stud­ied at the Indi­ana Uni­ver­si­ty School of Med­i­cine, where he earned his med­ical degree before suc­cess­ful­ly com­plet­ing his res­i­den­cy at Saint Joseph Region­al Med­ical Cen­ter. He is board-cer­ti­fied in Fam­i­ly Medicine.
